13 Oct. 2010 - James 3:13-18

James 3:13-18
"two kinds of wisdom"

James segues into this passage by saying that the wise and understanding give proof to their wisdom by their good lives and deeds, done in humility.

He then takes the flipside: jealousy, selfish ambition, bitterness should not be boasted about or falsely perceived. this is wisdom as the world knows. a false wisdom that is uninspired, fleshly and created by the devil. where jealousy and ambition occur, disorder and evil will soon follow.

Conversely, there is a wisdom that is real, comes from heaven and is inspired of God. this wisdom is pure, considerate, compassionate, peace-loving, merciful, impartial and sincere. peacemakers, those who follow God's wisdom are those who will experience God's righteousness.

Like any other aspect of the world we live in, there are two sides. In this case, there are two wisdoms, but only one of them is true wisdom. the other is foolishness.
